I would say that the Church "early" as "primitive" does not have connotations of a simple, naive people, the founders of the early church.
She was reading the book of Acts, which shows the early church.

Not much better .. this problem

As I said, has written in the first century of the church, is small.

You will not find in the Bible - most of the New Testament was written 70 years after the death of Christ! The early church to spread their knowledge orally and in the writings of the Church to express that are present in the second and third century in abundance. This body of literature precedence form an organization called "tradition".

The early Church took this tradition and literature, and instead of trying to rebuild (invented) the practice of the early church, as they think they might have been put in the time of the Apostles. It will be restored in the practices of the Old Testament.

You have to watch the Old Testament, and use lots of imagination!

Schneb advice is good. The book of Acts is a bridge between the writings of the four Gospels (Jesus' life) and the establishment of Christianity by the apostles (after the death of Jesus).

It is believed that Luke in which the author, and wrote 63 to 70 years. He was the companion of Paul on his journeys throughout the Roman Empire, spreading the message of the Gospel of) non-Jews (Gentiles.

Chapter 2 tells how the Holy Spirit came at Pentecost, and gave the early Christians to go and witness of the risen Christ.

The book gives an idea of Peter and Paul's ministry and the establishment and growth of Christianity after the death and resurrection of Jesus. I hope that helps.
